Co-op coming to eyesore mall

After sitting empty for about a decade, work has finally begun at a dilapidated West Kelowna strip mall.

Workers and heavy machinery have been at the former Cattle Country site, at 2528 Main St., for more than a week, demolishing part of the building in preparation for the renovations that will soon take place.

After previous development plans for the property fell through several years ago, the property was sold in late 2015.

In December of 2016, West Kelowna City Council approved a development permit for the property, allowing for the renovation of the gas station and mall that sit on it.
