NCA Commercial Inc. – 2019 Year-End Review
December 18, 2019 11:59 amWhat a year it’s been! At NCA Commercial we’ve been busy appraising local commercial properties, building our book of business and hiring new appraisers to meet growing demand. As a company, we always strive to do the finest work in the quickest possible time so our clients can move forward with their commercial real estate projects. This is the main force behind everything we do. So, what have we accomplished in 2019?
First of all, a few staff changes. This year we celebrated the retirement of Ross MacDougall. Ross worked as an AACI for over 30 years serving Okanagan clients including National and Provincial financial institutions, the Attorney General’s Office of British Columbia, the Ministry of Transportation, Government institutions and ministries and private real estate investors. Ross is now just as busy enjoying his grand-kids!
Both Courtney Eyre and Brian Chambers joined us in 2019. While Courtney is an experienced AIC candidate looking forward to completing her final step toward accreditation in 2020, Bryan is a seasoned AACI having worked in both the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan since 1980. Kathleen O’Neil also joined us in 2019 as a part-time administrative assistant. The NCA team continues to grow!
2019 brought many exciting changes to the local commercial real estate landscape. It’s so rewarding to be part of this evolution. Our office produced over 200 commercial real estate appraisal reports this year. Most of the projects we had a hand in were located in Kelowna, North and South Okanagan, with some as far as 100 Mile House, Revelstoke, Nelson and Seabird Island. In addition to the industrial, multi-family, commercial, agricultural and large land holdings that make up most of our portfolio, this year we appraised some interesting holdings including RCMP buildings, schools, vineyards, theatres, hotels, student housing complexes, nurseries and, of course, a number of cannabis facilities. Throw in a few expropriation and court cases to keep it us on our toes.
Based on 2019, we’re excited to see what the new year will bring. We wish you all a happy holiday season and the best in 2020!
